PC government looks at implementing LD 1 billion-worth of projects in south – Al Marsad

Libya, 26 March 2019 – The implementation of development projects in southern Libya’s Fezzan region was discussed and priorities set at a meeting today in Tripoli. Chaired by Presidency Council (PC) head Faiez Sarraj, the other members attending were PC deputy Abdulsalam Kajman and PC ordinary member Ahmed Hamza, both from Fezzan, as well as planning minister Al-Taher al-Juhaimi, local government minister Milad al-Tahir and Sarraj’s economic adviser, Mohamed al-Huwaij.

Sarraj stressed the need to start implementing projects as soon as possible. According to the PC’s media office, these include much-needed local services.

A committee to follow up and oversee implementation was agreed at the meeting which follows PC  resolution No. 1686 of 2018 ordering a development programme for the south and setting aside a budget of LD 1 billion for it.
