France, Germany and Italy Discuss Turkey’s Provocations and the Situation in Libya – Al Marsad

Following a Friday morning tripartite meeting held with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, on the sidelines of a two-day European Union Summit in the Belgian capital Brussels, French President Emmanuel Macron said, “we reiterate our unequivocal stance visa-à-vis Turkey’s provocations.”

[Libya, 13 December 2019] – French President Macron confirmed the European Union’s full solidarity with Athens and Nicosia in the face of Ankara’s provocations in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The meeting of the three European leaders also discussed the latest developments in Libya. In this context, French President, Emmanuel Macron underlined the European Union’s support for the UNSMIL-led efforts on the political track to reach a settlement for the Libyan conflict, revealing that the forthcoming Berlin Conference on Libya will be held on 15 January 2020.
