GNA’s Siala Expresses Gratitude for the Turkish Parliament’s Vote – Al Marsad

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohammed Siala, spoke over the phone with Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu. 

[Libya, 2 January 2020] – According to Anadolu News Agency, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and today’s decision by the Turkish Parliament to grant a one-year mandate to the Turkish government to send troops to Libya.

Diplomatic sources said that Siala and Cavusoglu discussed bilateral relations and developments in the region. During the telephone exchange, Siala expressed his gratitude for the decision of the Turkish Parliament.

The bill on to send Turkish troops to Libya was debated in the Turkish Parliament this afternoon by Turkish parliamentarians, with 325 deputies voting in favor, while 184 opposed it.
