Ayesha Gaddafi Calls on the Libyan People to Repel Turkish Invasion – Al Marsad

Ayesha Gaddafi, daughter of the late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, called for repelling what she described as desecration of Libyan land by Turkish troops, in the wake of Turkish Parliament’s approval of a motion to send Turkish forces to Libya.

[Libya, 2 January 2020] –  The daughter of the former Libyan leader was quoted by Jamahiriya Satellite TV as saying, “when Turkish soldiers’ boots desecrate our homeland soil, which was watered by the blood of our martyrs, if there is no one among you to repel this aggression, then leave the battlefield to the free women of Libya and I will be at their forefront.”

The Turkish Parliament has granted on Thursday a one-year mandate for Turkish government to deploy troops on the ground in Libya. This flagrant Turkish military intervention in Libya comes at the request of the Government of National Accord in Tripoli, headed by Fayez al-Sarraj.
