Putin and Erdogan Exchange Views on the Situation in Libya – Al Marsad

The current situation in Libya was the focus of a telephone conversation between Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, according to Sputnik.

[Libya, 12 January 2020] – Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the situation in Libya, during a phone call yesterday, reaffirming their common desire to help solve the Libyan conflict.

The Kremlin press service stated in a statement posted on its website yesterday, Saturday, according to the Russian news agency, Sputnik, that the two heads of state exchanged views on the situation in Libya on the basis of the Russian-Turkish agreement reached by the two presidents during their recent meeting in Istanbul on the eighth of January.

According to the Kremlin press service, the two sides “affirmed the desire of Russia and Turkey to assist in the process of political settlement of the Libyan conflict,” adding that the conversation was initiated by the Turkish side.
