Erdogan’s Former Advisor: Arresting Journalists For Publishing Story of Turkish Officer Killed in Libya will Bring Chaos – Al Marsad

Aydın Ünal, a former advisor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said the closure of Oda TV newspaper and the arrest of its journalists for covering the death of a Turkish intelligence officer in Libya, is dragging Turkey to chaos.

[Libya, 10 March 2020] – “The Justice and Development Party (AKP) pushes Turkey to a state of chaos,” said Ünal who used to who used to write articles for Erdogan from 2007 until 2015, according to Turkey Now news website on Monday.

Turkish authorities blocked the news website of Oda TV newspaper and arrested the website’s editor-in-chief Barış Pehlivan a few days after arresting the News Editor Chief Barış Terkoğlu and journalist Hulya Kilinc, a daughter of Mayor of city of Manisa affiliated with the Republican People Party (CHP) Başkan Kilinc.

They were all arrested on the grounds that they published a story with photos about the Turkish officer’s funeral in the western city of Manisa, after being killed in Libya.
