Libyan Government Launches Sterilization Campaign in Freed Cities and Regions During Curfew Hours – Al Marsad

The Presidency of the Libyan Cabinet of Ministers launched on Saturday a massive sterilization campaign in cities and regions under the control of the Libyan government  during curfew hours, in cooperation with the National Safety Authority, the Civil Defense and the Water and Sewerage Company.

[Libya, 29 March 2020] – This procedure comes as part of the efforts carried out by the government headed by Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thini to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic, in addition to other measures previously announced, according to the media office of the Libyan government.

The campaign is led by the head of the Civil Defense Agency, Brigadier Abdulaziz Al-Urfi who confirmed the start of sterilization of public streets after the completion of sterilization of all government headquarters and buildings.

The instructions of the Prime Minister require sterilization of all the main institutions and streets of cities and regions, and generalizing this step to the various municipalities in southern and western Libya.
