LNA: Turkey Spreads Rumours on Toxic Gases to Cover Up Its Intervention in Libya – Al Marsad

The General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) said in a statement today that the Turkish invaders, and through their “agents and traitors” in the Government of the National Accord (GNA) headed by Fayez al-Sarraj, spread rumors that the army was using toxic gases in the Salah Al-Din axis, southern Tripoli.

[Libya, 23 April 2020] – The General Command added that after analyzing the objectives of these malicious rumours, it became clear that the terrorist gangs are looking for an argument to persuade public opinion to allow the Turkish Air Force to use toxic gases to target the positions of the armed forces, according to the statement.

Moreover, it demanded that all who are involved in the Libyan crisis and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) monitor this matter closely, stressing that the army is ready to conduct an international investigation on the matter.

“Such rumours and lies were used previously by Turkey in Syria to accuse the Syrian Arab Army and to permit the international community to cover up the Turkish malicious intervention into Arab issues,” the General Command noted in its statement.
