Turkish Drone Bombs an Egg Truck South of Bani Walid Injuring Driver – Al Marsad

A Turkish drone shelled tonight a container truck carrying eggs in the Ashmaikh area, southwest of the city of Bani Walid.

[Libya, 24 April 2020] – The Turkish strike, according to the spokesperson of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Qanunu, was said to have destroyed the truck and a fuel tanker.

However, the Western Region Operations Room of the Libyan National Army (LNA) denied the two shipments belonged to the armed forces and confirmed that the eggs consignment were for a local merchant.

With regards to the fuel, the Fuel Crisis Committee of the Government of Abdullah al-Thini had dispatched it to the fuel stations of Bani Walid and was scheduled for unloading tonight to resolve fuel shortage the citizens, according to the Operations Room.

One of the drivers was seriously injured by the Turkish drone attack and transferred to the local hospital. Some reports indicated the driver had died from the injuries sustained, but this could not be confirmed by Al Marsad.
