FDCD Calls on UN Security Council to Investigate Turkish-GNA Crimes Against Tarhouna Civilians – Al Marsad

The Forum for Development, Culture, and Dialogue (FDCD) condemned on Sunday the breach of the UN-sponsored ceasefire by the militias of the Government of National Accord (GNA) allied with the Turkish regime with the continuous targeting of civilians and by bombing the city of Tarhouna, southeast of the capital Tripol.

[Libya, 26 April 2020] – The FDCD said in a statement that the GNA militias bombed Tarhouna with more than 20 missiles, all of which landed on homes and civilian areas, causing injuries and damage that amount to war crimes in a clear violation of the United Nations-sponsored truce. It asserted that the GNA armed militias, accused of treason by the army, also carried out bloody attacks over the past few days to control Sabratha and Surman.

The FDCD called on the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to carry out its duties, condemn the terrorists, and investigate their crimes against civilians while trying to control those cities during the armistice.
