Al-Birini: Erdogan Wants to Displace Libyans from their Homeland – Al Marsad

The head of the Supreme Council of Tribes and Libyan Cities, al-Augili al-Birini, accused the Turkish regime of planning to displace Libyans from their country, indicating that the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, believes that any Libyan citizen who does not agree with his Turkish ambitions is an enemy.

[Libya, 28 April 2020] – In exclusive statements to press on Monday, al-Birini said that the Turkish intervention in Libya coincides with a orchestrated and biased media campaign against Libyan tribes, cities and towns that support the Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. He said the same media campaign, meanwhile, praise the so-called the Turks of Libya based on the description made by Erdogan who seeks to tear the Libyan social fabric apart.

The head of the Supreme Council believes that the first goal of terrorists and mercenaries is to target tribes in Bani Walid, Tarhouna and the Arba‘ and direct public and direct threats to other tribes across Libya. He warned that this matter will be view by Turkey as revenge against Libyan tribes for their history of resistance against Erdogan’s Ottoman ancestors.
