Muslim Brotherhood: We Only Count on Our Forces and Turkey to Achieve Victory – Al Marsad

The boycotting member of the House of Representatives (HOR), Ali Bouzakouk, who is also a key Muslim Brotherhood member in the US and Libya, stressed that they depend only on their forces and capabilities and the support of their strategic ally Turkish.

[Libya, 11 May 2020] – “The dialogue should be between parties that have credibility and desire to build Libya. The other party has infringed on the HOR in Tobruk and does not believe in any civil state. It only wants to rule Libya, as dictator Gaddafi (the late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi) used to do,” claimed Bouzakouk during a statement on Libya Panorama channel on Sunday.

He pointed out that the dialogue will be with a national stakeholder that desires to build a future Libya. Although the Libyan National Army (LNA) controls 90% of the country, Bouzakouk said, “Haftar (Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Haftar) and his followers can never be among the builders of the civil Libyan state in the future.”

As for the demands of the parallel Parliament in Tripoli to hold a hearing in the presence of the Presidential Council, he explained, “Yes, this request was made and we associate ourselves with the other HOR’s representatives calling for a clear vision of the issue because we must have an explicit position in this aspect.”

“As the representatives of the Libyan people, the Presidential Council must provide the full justifications and clarifications for the people. We support the Presidential Council on the condition of providing the required clarifications and evaluation of this issue without any equivocation in fully supporting the war effort, which will end in a great victory for the national February forces,” concluded Bouzakouk.

Ali Bouzakouk divides his time between US and Libya and has been an influential figure in Islamist circles in the US. He was also a staunch supporter of the UN-designated terrorist group Ansar Al-Shariah who he described as “part of the brigades defending Benghazi against outlaw forces.”
