Syrian Organization: Turkey is Recruiting Child Soldiers to Send Them to Libya – Al Marsad

A warning was issued by the executive director of the Syrians for Truth and Justice organization Bassam al-Ahmad who said that Syrian factions loyal to Turkey have forged documents and overlooked the age of some mercenaries who were recruited in Afrin and other areas in order to transport them to fight with the forces of the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli. Their ages range between 15 and 17 years old.

(Libya, 12 May 2020) – In his statement to NEWS 218 on Monday, Bassam al-Ahmad noted that the number of children recruited is estimated to be tens of children, and cannot be accurately defined due to the prevailing situation.

He added that confirmed information states that no less than 9,000 Syrian mercenaries have been transported into Libya, and that a new group of mercenaries is also scheduled to cross the borders into Turkey and to Istanbul through Antakya and Gaziantep airports on a military plane, and then from Istanbul to Libya.
