The White House: Trump and Macron Agreed on the Need to Reduce Escalation in Libya – Al Marsad

The White House said that US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the issue of increased foreign intervention in Libya and agreed on the urgent need to stop escalation of the conflict.

(Libya, 20 May 2020) – The call between the US and French Presidents today came after the Government of National Accord (GNA) militants entered Al-Watiyah airbase after more than 100 Turkish air strikes in the past two days.

Turkey also used a warship to bomb the fortifications of Al-Watiyah airbase with guided missiles.
