Chad MP: We Support Libyan Stability and Reject Foreign Interference – Al Marsad

Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the House of Representatives, Yousef al-Aqouri, made a call this week to Chadian member of parliament and of the Libyan-Chadian Relations Committee, Zakaria Mohammed Saleh, in which they discussed a number of issues that are of interest to both countries.

(Libya, 28 May 2020) – According to the House of Representatives press office, Yousef al-Aqouri greeted the Chadian government and people on behalf of the HOR on the occasion of al-Fitr Eid, emphasizing the importance of enhancing relations between the two countries on all fronts given the historical relations between the peoples of the two countries. Al-Aqouri expressed his eagerness to arrange a visit to the Republic of Chad at the earliest opportunity.

His Chadian counterpart , Zakaria Mohammed Saleh, said Chad supports stability in Libya. He said President idriss Déby of Chad stressed his refusal on any foreign interference in Libya, which has exacerbated the crisis.

Saleh pointed out the Chadian president’s efforts at international conferences to reject foreign interference. Chad has suffered too from the deterioration of the situation in Libya, specifically on the security level, as Chad faces a rise of terrorist activity on its borders.

The Chadian MP emphasized the close correlation between security in Chad and in Libya.
