Council of Sheikhs Urge Arab Nations to Activate Joint Defense Agreements to Confront Turkish Invasion of Libya – Al Marsad

Head of the Cabinet of the Supreme Council of the Sheikhs and Notables of Libya, Muhammad Al-Misbahi, said he does not rule out possible attack on the Oil Crescent by the militias of the Government of National Accord (GNA) supported by Turkish forces.

(Libya, 28 May 2020) – Muhammad Al-Misbahi, in a statement to Al-Hadath channel on Wednesday, said that Ankara plans to enhance its presence in Libya both politically and economically.

He added that Libyans need Arab support and reiterated his appeal to Egypt, UAE, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia to activate their respective defense agreements to help Libya counter terrorism.

Al-Misbahi indicated that Libya is under Muslim Brotherhood attack led by Turkish President Erdogan and ISIS.
