Al-Thini and Al-Hweij Discuss Diplomatic Steps to Confront the Turkish Invasion – Al Marsad

Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thini received, on Sunday, the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report, which outlined the progress made in human rights in Libya. This took place during a meeting with Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

(Libya, 1 June 2020) – Al-Hweij briefed al-Thini on the various aspects of this report submitted every five years to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) as part of a process that involves a review of the human rights records of all UN Member States.

Al-Thini also discussed with the Minister the latest political developments in the country and the various moves by Turkish to invade Libya. They also discussed ways to address them politically and diplomatically in coordination with the neighbouring countries and allies and friends to resist Turkish incursion in Libya and the MENA region.
