Volcano of Anger: Maiteeq Lied to Stop Sirte Operations and Sarraj Refused – Al Marsad

Abdul-Malik Al-Madani, the Spokesperson for Volcano of Anger campaign revealed that a person described as “a high-profile fool”, in reference to Ahmad Maiteeq, the member of the Presidential Council for Misrata, called the Commander of the Sirte and Al-Jufra Operations Room reporting to the Presidential Council, and conveyed to him a message from the Russians on not attacking Sirte and said it is a red line and that GNA forces should withdraw to Buerat el-Hussoun.

(Libya, 7 July 2020) – In a post on his Facebook page, Al-Madani said that Maiteeq’s call to the Commander of the Sirte and Al-Jufra Operations Room was according to the recommendations of the Egyptian intelligence. Al-Madani added that Maiteeq lied about the presence of a large number of Russian fighters in Sirte and that it was now difficult to enter it. The aim of this “lie” was to stop the military operations of the militants of the Government of National Accord (GNA) at Buerat el-Hussoun, argued by Al-Madani.

Al-Madani revealed that he had communicated with what he described as the “Supreme Commander of the Army” (President of the Presidential Council al-Sarraj) and stressed the continuation of their war in Sirte to liberate it.

He added that Sarraj demanded the Sirte and Al-Jufra Operations Room to continue and promised to provide all air cover required. Sarraj reiterated that the issue of the progress of the forces is up to the Operations Room and the field commanders only and no one should interfere in that.

Al-Madani argued that Sarraj ordered the war not to stop until the “liberation of all Libyan soil” from the “putschists” (the Libyan armed forces). “Shame and disgrace be on everyone who wants to sell the blood of our martyrs, including this imbecile whose reality all Libyans know. He is the so-called Maiteeq, the prodigy child,” concluded the Spokesperson of the parallel Military Information Division affiliated to the Volcano of Anger.
