UK SUPPORTS THE CAIRO DECLARATION

Last week, following the launch of the Cairo Declaration, the Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa James Cleverley praised the efforts made by Egypt to encourage the Libyan leaders in the eastern region to support the ceasefire provided the UN oversees the implementation of such move.

He noted the need for the Libyan National Army (LNA) and the Government of National Accord (GNA) to engage urgently in the talks of the Libyan 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC), stressing that it is the path to a comprehensive solution.
