Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday condemned the “aggressive behaviour” of Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean during talks in Jerusalem with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.

(Libya, 17 June 2020) – Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said, according to the Russian agency Sputnik: “I have raised with the Israeli Prime Minister the recent incidents of illegal and provocative Turkish incursions on our maritime, air and land borders.”

“We consider this activity a threat to regional peace and stability” he added. Mitsotakis criticized the “destabilizing actions that Turkey has played vis-à-vis its relationship with Libya.”

“The agreement is null and void with regard to the designation of maritime areas between the two countries,” said Mitsotakis, referring to the illegal agreement signed by Ankara with the Government of National Accord (GNA).
