El-Sonni: Controlling All Oil Installations in Libya is Our Priority – Al Marsad

Taher El-Sonni, the Permanent Representative of the Presidential Council to the United Nations, confirmed that their government seeks to control all oil installations throughout Libya. He also said that signing any agreement with any country was a legitimate right of the GNA and cannot be considered as foreign interference, implying the agreement signed between Turkey and Fayez al-Sarraj, which violates the Libyan political agreement.

(Libya, 9 July 2020) – Taher El-Sonni said during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the developments in Libya that oil is the wealth of all Libyans and that their government is working to “liberate it from mercenaries and militants”, as he claimed.

The delegate of the pro-Turkish Presidential Council denounced the “threat” issued by the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi when he said that Sirte and al-Jufra are a “red line” for the militants of the Government of National Accord (GNA).

“We reserve our right to prosecute those who prevented Libyan oil exports,” said El-Sonni.
