Al-Hweij: Saleh’s Morocco Visit Aims to Gather Support for Cairo Initiative and Return to Political Process – Al Marsad

The Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, said that the President of the Libyan Parliament, Chancellor Aguila Saleh’s visit to Rabat was aimed at gathering support for the Cairo Initiative to solve the Libyan crisis through a return to the political process.

(Libya, 27 July 2020) – Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, In statements issued to Al-Ittihad newspaper today. indicated that Chancellor Aguila Saleh’s visit to Morocco was aimed to consolidate ceasefire and return to the political process in accordance with the principles of the Libyan people.

During the visit, Chancellor Aguila Saleh  was received upon arrival by senior Moroccan senior officials and by the Libyan Ambassador to Morocco, Abdelmajid Saif Al-Nasr. The President of the Libyan Parliament held talks with his Moroccan counterpart Habib El Malki and other key officials.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, denied reports of any meeting in Rabat between the President of the Libyan Parliament and Khaled al-Mishri, the head of the advisory and Tripol-based High Council of State.
