Libya Crisis is a Key Item in Talks Between German and Russian Foreign Ministers – Al Marsad

The German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Christopher Burger said that Berlin is very interested in the dialogue with Moscow on arms control. The conflict in Libya is one of the key items in bilateral talks between Germany and Russia.

(Libya, 11 August 2020) – The German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Christopher Burger said in a press conference on Monday, according to Sputnik, that it was important for them not to break dialogue with Moscow in difficult times, especially in bilateral relations.

He added: “There are topics on the international agenda, including the conflict in eastern Ukraine, conflict in Libya, and the pressing issue of arms control. We expressed our growing interest in staying in dialogue with Russia.”

It is worth mentioning that the German Foreign Ministry declared earlier about a working visit by the Chief of the Department, Heiko Maas, to Russia today. He will visit Moscow and St. Petersburg and pursue talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
