Boumtari and Shakshak Agree with Turkish Companies to Resume Contracts in Libya – Al Marsad

The Finance Minister in the Government of National Accord (GNA), Faraj Boumtari, Tripoli-based Audit Bureau Chief, Khaled Shakshak, and Libya’s Consul General in Istanbul, Fathi al-Sharif, met on Friday with the representatives of several Turkish companies.

(Libya, 23 August 2020) – According to the Ministry’s information office, the meeting considered the mechanisms that would allow these companies to return to Libya to complete their previous stalled contracts, especially power-related ones, as a way out from the current crisis.

This meeting is a sequel to that the President of the Presidential Council held with the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) and part of the endeavors to find effective solutions to overcome the problems facing GECOL. The meeting concluded with asserting the readiness of the Turkish companies to return to Libya and complete their business contracts.
