According to the Council’s media office, Du Hellen conveyed during the call the greetings of French President Emmanuel Macron and renewed her country’s support for the peace initiative proposed by al-Sarraj on August 21.

The French ambassador also conveyed Macron’s invitation to Sarraj to visit Paris at the earliest.

For his part, the President of the Presidential Council accepted the invitation and stressed that the implementation of his proposals contained in the said statement, including a ceasefire, proceeding towards elections, and resuming oil production and export, needs the full support from all Libya’s friends.
