State Council: Any Dialogue or Agreement Must Be Between Elected Bodies – Al Marsad

The spokesperson for the consultative High Council of State, Mohamed bin Nees, confirmed that the Council refuses to negotiate with the General Commander of the Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

(Libya, 24 August 2020) – Mohamed bin Nees stressed, according to the Russian Sputnik agency, that any dialogue or agreement should take place between only the elected bodies. Presumably this means that Fayez al-Sarraj should also not take part in any dialogue given that the GNA and the Presidential Council are not elected bodies/

He also called for an end to external interference in Libya, calling on the countries involved in the Libyan file to respect the UN Security Council resolutions.
