Before Bashagha’s Suspension, Mishri Meets with Turkish Ministers to Discuss Ceasefire and Economic Projects – Al Marsad

While the situation in Tripoli worsened during the last three days, the head of the advisory High State Council and leading Muslim Brotherhood member, Khaled Al-Mishri paid a visit to Ankara meeting both the Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and the Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoglu yesterday Friday in the Turkish capital Ankara to discuss ceasefire and economic development. 

(Libya, 29 August) – According to the media bureau of the State Council, Khaled al-Mishri discussed the development of the situation in Libya and the initiatives to ceasefire, opportunities for the resumption of political dialogue, and ways to strengthen peace in Libya, in addition to bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern to both countries.

Akar also gave a tour to Mishri of a photo exhibition about the Ottoman Empire and Kamal Ataturk at the beginning of the reception at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Ankara.

Mishri also met the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoglu. According to Çavuşoglu they were determined to speed up our economic and commercial projects with Tripoli.

Çavuşoglu, in a tweet on his official account, reported by the Turkish Anadolu Agency, wrote that the two discussed Turkish cooperation with “brotherly” Libya, which he said grows stronger every day. He added that both countries are determined to speed up joint economic and commercial projects and asserted that Turkey will continue to support the political process in Libya.
