Muslim Brotherhood: GNA’s “International Agreements” Should Not Be Prejudiced Under Any Circumstances – Al Marsad

The Deputy Head of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Justice and Construction Party (JCP), Faraj al-Ammari, said that the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj, will leave a heavy legacy for his successor. However, he argued that such a void can be filled by many Libyan figures who can manage the country’s affairs, contrary to claims otherwise.

(Libya, 21 September 2020) – Faraj al-Ammari, in a statement to the London-based newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat today expected most of Sarraj’s decisions and appointments to be reviewed by the new prime minister, especially the “ill-considered” decisions related to the presidency of the Media Foundation and the security sector.

The JCP’s deputy head ruled out any prejudice to international agreements in the preliminary period preceding the legislative and parliamentary elections, which are expected to be approved through the comprehensive political solution negotiations. By “international agreements” he was referring to the agreements illegally signed by the Government of National Accord (GNA) with Turkey and other parties without the approval of the elected parliament.
