The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Libyan government, Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, served a letter to his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, conveying to him the contents of the letter of the Minister of Interior, Ibrahim Bushnaf.

The letter included Bushnaf’s reference to his hope that the Egyptian government would understand that the land border checkpoints between the two countries are under the control of the Libyan government approved by the legitimate HoR.

The letter emphasized that the Ministry of Interior in the Libyan government will not bear any security responsibility unless it is a party to any agreement signed, as it is the party responsible for the border checkpoints between the two brotherly countries.
