Al-Asmar: UNSMIL Has Inflated the Real Weight of the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya – Al Marsad

Political scientist Muhammad Al-Asmar said the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) in Tunisia is dangerous because of the presence of the Muslim Brotherhood organization, which the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has granted weight and influence far greater than what it has in Libya.

(Libya, 12 November 2020) – Al-Asmar said in a statement to Sky News Arabia that the Muslim Brotherhood is dangerous to the LPDF, as the organization will influence the outcomes of the LPDF which is mandated to vote on the new government and discuss legal and constitutional matters if they are not agreed upon within seven months, as stipulated in the draft announced in the first days of the LPDF.

“There are many agreements concluded on Libya, including the Skhirat Agreement in Morocco, which was signed in December 2015, but it did not succeed because the international community represented by the United Nations did not follow up on its implementation,” he added.
