Economic expert Ramzi al-Jadi said the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj, was of the belief that financial institutions are now outside his authority because the Muslim Brotherhood controlled their management, such as the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) which is beset by corruption and managed by a closed circuit of Libyan Islamists residing in Turkey.

Al-Jadi indicated in a statement to today, Friday, that the dismissal of one of its most prominent leaders, Mustapha Al-Manea—who is currently also the legal advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Siddiq al-Kabir—an attempt by Sarraj to limit al-Kabir’s influence and regain control of the sovereign fund.

It is noteworthy that the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddik al-Kabir, resides in Turkey.
