Gununu: Our Training Activities with Turkey Will Continue to Protect February Revolution – Al Marsad

The spokesperson for the militants of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Muhammad Gununu, said that the Omar al-Mukhtar Training Center represents one of the bold steps taken within the framework of the so-called “legitimate” agreements between the GNA and Ankara according to local and international laws, as he claimed.

(Libya, 22 November 2020) – Muhammad Gununu, in a statement to the Turkish Anadolu Agency yesterday, Saturday, indicated that the training activities of their militants with Turkey would continue: “We will continue our path based on professionalism and legitimacy, aiming to protect the February 17 revolution [2011] and the concept of a constitutional civil state.”

The spokesperson for the GNA’s militants indicated that his country received the support of the Turkish government within the framework of what he described as “international agreements.”

The Erdogan-Sarraj agreements are illegal as they have not been approved by the elected Parliament of Libya. The continuation of military training by Turkey contravenes key stipulations in the recent agreement signed by the military representatives of the GNA and the Libyan National Army (LNA) at the 5+5 military track talks.
