Tripoli Protection Force Welcomes HoR’s Meeting, Refuses UN-brokered “Political Waste” Recycling – Al Marsad

The Tripoli Protection Force of the Government of National Accord (GNA) welcomed the consultative meeting of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) in Tangier, Morocco, and its outcomes to “take our country from the dark tunnel that the axis of evil countries pushed it to enter under the auspices of the United Nations” as the statement of the Tripoli Protection Force put it.

(Libya, 30 November 2020) – The Tripoli Protection Force, which includes several battalions and militas, indicated in a statement issued on Sunday evening: “As leaders, battalions, and associates, we welcome the meeting of the brothers, members of the Libyan House of Representatives and the resumption of the Parliament sessions. The Force appreciates highly this constructive step towards achieving the desired dream of building the state and restoring stability.”

In its statement, the “Force” praised all the concessions made by the members of Parliament to get Libya out of the dark tunnel that the “axis of evil countries pushed it to enter under the auspices of the United Nations”, referring to the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) that took place in Tunisia and what it should have decided on the new sharing of power.

“In light of the emergence of this light in the midst of the political darkness that Libya is experiencing, we invite and welcome all members of Parliament from the east, west, and south to meet in the capital of all Libyans, Tripoli. We affirm that we are ready to provide full protection and security for the members and guarantee their safety and that of their sessions far from all external interference.”

In conclusion, the Force states that “All these international interventions are not conducive to regaining stability in Libya. The solution lies only in the hands of the people, their representatives and the Libyan-Libyan dialogue inside the Libyan territories away from all these attempts to extend the transitional phase and recycling political waste,” referring to its opponent Fathi Bashagha, the ally of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose efforts to be the prime minister through the LPDF in Tunisia have so far failed.
