Al-Tuhami: Turkey Tries to Bargain with Russia on Syria at Libya’s Cost – Al Marsad

Libyan political analyst Ahmed al-Tuhami criticized the Government of National Accord’s (GNA) lack of seriousness with ongoing talks and agreements.

(Libya, 15 December 2020) – Turkey is trying to “hijack” the Libyan file to bargain with Russia on northern Syria, said Libyan political analyst Ahmed al-Tuhami .

In a statement to the Al-Ghad Egyptian channel, he noted that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is not adequately concerned with ongoing agreements and dialogues.

Al-Tuhami said that Tripoli’s efforts for a solution are not serious, and the head of the advisory High Council of State Khaled Al-Mishri has already stated that the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) was given a disproportionate role. This further illustrates the GNA’s lack of seriousness, he said.

Ankara has direct interests in Libya, as the flow of Libyan money contributes in easing Turkey’s liquidity crisis, said al-Tuhami.
