Presidential Council Denies Rumours of Rift with Central Bank – Al Marsad

The spokesperson for the President of the Presidency Council, Ghaleb Alzgalay, rejected rumours about the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj’s decision to impeach the move by the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) to unify the exchange rate.

(Libya, 3 January 2021) – Ghaleb Alzgalay took to Twitter to denounce the rumours surrounding the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj’s decision to impeach the Central Bank of Libya’s measures to unify the exchange rate.

“We deny the rumours about the President of the Presidential Council’s move to impeach the decision of the Central Bank of Libya to unify the exchange rate. On the contrary, the President had expressed his satisfaction with the meeting of the Central Bank’s board of directors, the unification of the exchange rate, and the commencement of implementing economic reforms,” he tweeted in Arabic.
