Mahjoub: LNA Supports Any National Action that Ends Presence of Foreign Mercenaries – Al Marsad

The Libyan National Army (LNA) confirmed the support of the General Command for the outputs of the 5+5 Libyan Joint Military Committee agreed at the Geneva meetings last October. LNA General Command welcomed the national position of the military delegation that represents the Government of National Accord (GNA) at the meetings.

(LIBYA, 30 January 2021) – In statements to Al-Ittihad newspaper this week, the director of LNA’s Moral Guidance Department, Brigadier General Khaled Mahjoub said the LNA’s General Command supports any national effort that ends the presence of foreign mercenaries, armed groups and the Muslim Brotherhood, who had corrupted Libyan territory.

He pointed out that the military track was one of the most important tracks in Libya, since the problem was first and foremost one of security. Mahjoub stressed that armed groups prevented the establishment of unified state institutions in Libya.

He also pointed to the commitment of the LNA General Command to implement all the outputs of the military committee in Geneva, especially the removal of mercenaries and foreign fighters, and the opening of the coastal road, indicating that all items agreed must be activated as a priority.
