Denmark Supports Libyan Municipal Elections with USD 800k Grant – Al Marsad

The US and Danish Ambassadors to Libya, Richard Norland and Julie Pruzan-Jorgensen, discussed various developments in Libya and the Danish government’s USD 800k grant towards municipal elections in the country.

(Libya, 3 February 2021) –According to the statement of the US Embassy in Tripoli, Ambassador Richard Norland appreciated the decision by Denmark to contribute USD 800k as part of a bilateral agreement with the United States to support municipal elections in Libya.

The statement said that Ambassador Norland described Denmark’s efforts as an excellent example of the international community’s support for the political process in Libya,.

The two sides reviewed the ongoing cooperation in the country, including support the municipal elections, the central committee for the elections of its councils, and efforts to support the national elections scheduled for the 24 December 2021.
