El-Sisi: We Will Support the New Libyan Government – Al Marsad

The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that matters inside the Libyan state are improving with Egypt’s help to maintain peace in the country. President El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness to move for peace and preserve stability in a region that has undergone major conflicts for the last 20 years.

(Libya, 7 February 2021) – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, said during a phone call on “Al-Hekaya” program on Saturday, “As for the Interim Council in Libya, we are supportive of them and we will communicate with them during the coming period, and we are ready to cooperate with them to restore Libya and prepare for the elections after the formation of the government and obtaining the confidence of the House of Representatives (HoR).”

The Egyptian President made it clear that Egypt’s strength does not come from its institutions only, but also from its people: “My strength and the strength of Egypt are neither from me nor from my political administration but it from the will of the Egyptian people.”
