Al-Fitouri: Assassination Play by Bashagha is an Attempt to Gain Foothold in New Government – Al Marsad

Libyan Political analyst Radwan Al-Fitouri said that the Muslim Brotherhood spare no effort in thwarting the prospective new interim government, because if it succeeds it would lead to holding Presidential and Parliamentary elections which would effectively mean the end of the Brotherhood project on Libyan soil.

(LIBYA, 27 February 2021) – Radwan Al-Fitouri also said in a statement to Erem News: “You see them currently attempting to thwart the new Presidential Council and the government, whether through the head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled al-Mishri and whoever stands with him, or Turkey that stands behind him. Turkey does not want the stability of Libya, because it is simply an occupying force in the West, and its eyes are on the oil and gas.”

He also accused those he called “renegade deputies” of putting obstacles in front of Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, adding: “Some representatives speak out loudly about the rights of Cyrenaica, and Cyrenaica is innocent of them, because they are a symbol of authoritarianism and they are keen to thwart this new authority.” He added, “otherwise what does it mean to hear from a number of renegade representatives and others who say Sirte is not a safe place.”

And yet the 5+5 Joint Military committee (JMC) confirmed recently, in its response to the House of Representatives (HoR), its readiness to secure the HoR’s session in Sirte.

Al-Fitouri continued to say: “The whole world has seen how the militias eat each other, and here I am talking about the assassination play by the Minister of Interior of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bashagha, who is trying to disturb the political scene to obtain a foothold in the new interim government.”

“The beneficiaries of the chaos are those who are trying to impede the formation of the government,” said the political analyst.
