UNDP Delivers Three ICU Ambulances to the Municipality of Benghazi – Al Marsad

The Municipality of Benghazi confirmed that it received three ICU ambulances from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as part of UN efforts to help the health sector in Libya.  

(Libya, 2 March 2021) – A press release issued by the Municipality of Benghazi stated that the ambulance delivery took place during a meeting between the Mayor of Benghazi, Saqr Boujwari, and the representative of the UNDP in Libya, Gerardo Noto, and his accompanying delegation.

The statement indicated that the meeting focused on ways to develop the bilateral cooperation and support the implementation procedures of the program’s projects in Benghazi.

The statement also confirmed the delivery of two ICU ambulances to the Health Services Department, and the third to the Benghazi Rehabilitation and Handicap Centre, to enable the two departments to do their work effectively.

Gerardo Noto and his team also visited the Benghazi Children Hospital’s New Born and ICU section which was rehabilitated and upgraded with UNDP funding.
