Al-Menfi and Draghi Discuss Opening the Airspace Between Italy and Libya – Al Marsad

Head of the Presidential Council Mohamed al-Menfi received Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi in Tripoli today, in the presence of the Foreign Minister of the interim Government of National Unity, Najla Al-Mangoush.

(Libya, 6 April 2021) – According to the information office of the Presidential Council, the meeting discussed the historical relations between the two countries and joint cooperation in various fields.

The two sides discussed ways of activating the work of the Joint Committee, mainly, the Libyan-Italian Friendship Treaty signed in 2008, activating maritime navigation and cooperation in the field of infrastructure and oil, and opening the airspace between Libya and Italy as soon as possible.

The Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi was accompanied in the visit by Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.
