Al-Mangoush to Kais Saied: Libya Wants to Strengthen Relations with Tunisia – Al Marsad

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the interim Government of National Unity (GNU), Najla al-Mangoush met with Tunisian President Kais Saied in Tunis on her first foreign visit on Wednesday. The meeting dealt with the relations and partnership between Tunisia and Libya and the prospects for its development and diversification.

(LIBYA, 8 APRIL 2021) – According to the Tunisian Presidency, Kais Saied affirmed that the firm will of the two countries will help them rise against the upcoming obstacles.

He said that the fate of Tunisia and Libya is one and their goals are common, and he called for building cooperation according to non-traditional visions, and mechanisms, and to establish a strategic partnership with fresh thinking and great hopes for a better future for the two countries.

Saied praised the political developments that he described as “positive” in Libya, and renewed Tunisia’s willingness to continue putting its experience and expertise at the disposal of Libyans to support their efforts in the success of the various future corporations.

For her part, Najla al-Mangoush recalled what she described as the “historic visit of the President of the Tunisian Republic to Libya” last March, and the strong and important messages he carried, noting that she conveyed to the Tunisian president the greetings of the President of the Presidency Council and the Head of the GNU in Libya and their desire to work hard on the partnership between both countries.

She also indicated that she was keen to make Tunisia her first foreign destination since assuming her duties, as a message of gratitude to Tunisia for its positive role during the Libyan crisis.
