Dbaiba: We Will Cooperate with Turkey Based on Libya’s Requirements – Al Marsad

Prime Minister of the interim Government of National Unity (GNU) Abdul Hamid Dbaiba said that Libya will host many construction projects and would implement these projects with Turkish companies.

(Libya, 14 April 2021) – During the joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Monday, Dbaiba explained that Libya is willing to enhance cooperation in the field of energy, and thanked Turkey for its support for the permanent ceasefire, in light of Libyan desire to reach normal level of relations with the Turks.

Dbaiba stressed Libya’s aspiration to cooperate with Turkey in the security field in accordance with the requirements of the Libyan state, and noted that the meeting with Erdogan was very important because Libyans are looking for strategic relations with the Turks and all countries. He said the protection of Libya’s sovereignty, respect and economic unity should be the basis for these relations.

He revealed that understandings had been reached with the Turkish side on the resumption of Turkish flights to Libya, without giving further details.
