Health Ministry: International Organizations Must Respect the Legitimacy of Libya – Al Marsad

The Health Minister of the interim Government of National Unity (GNU), Ali Al-Zenati, held his second meeting with the departmental directors of the ministry to assess the performance of the ministry since he took office. The meeting came under the slogan “30 days have passed, what have we achieved? What difficulties have we encountered?”

(Libya, 20 April 2021) – According to the Health Ministry’s Information Office, the meeting discussed the overall work done, the percentage of departmental completion of their work, the extent of difficulties encountered and the solutions taken to ensure workflow, and what are the next steps and projects.

Among the most important issues discussed during the meeting were medical convoys and their preparation speed. They also discussed international organizations and the need for their commitment and respect for the legitimacy of the state. Stalled projects and the possibility of completing them were also on the agenda, along with the availability of oxygen in all regions of Libya, and the problems facing the supply of isolation centers.

The meeting also tackled medical waste and methods of disposal, drugs for tumors, kidneys and antitoxins, as well as other medicines, inspection and follow-up mechanism and the ministry’s follow-up and performance.

Following the meeting, several decisions were taken to contribute to raising the performance of the departments and employees of the Ministry of Health as it develops health services for citizens.
