Kate English: UK Expresses Readiness to Support Libya in the Field of Financial Information – Al Marsad

The British Embassy’s chargé d’affaires in Libya, Kate English, expressed her country’s commitment to reinforce capacity-building cooperation between the Libyan Financial Intelligence Unit and its counterpart in the United Kingdom.

(Libya, 6 May 2021) – According to a press statement issued by the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) in Tripoli, Kate English had a meeting with the CBL governor, Siddik al-Kabir, where the British diplomat indicated the possibility of her country supporting Libya in the field of capacity-building in the financial information sector.

The statement said the also discussed oil and electricity cooperation between the CBL and the Government of National Unity (GNU), as well as Libya’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing vaccination campaigns in the country.
