Dbaiba and Erdogan Discuss During Call Bilateral Relations and Regional Developments – Al Marsad

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Prime Minister of the interim Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba, exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, and discussed bilateral relations and a number of regional developments.

(LIBYA, 14 May 2021) – According to a statement issued by the media department of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, as reported by the Turkish Anadolu Agency, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Libya and Turkey, and current regional developments, particularly the situation in Jerusalem, al-Aqsa, and the Gaza Strip.

There was no indication, however, if Dbaiba discussed with Erdogan the timeline of the departure of Turkish forces and its Syrian mercenaries as is required by the 5+5 Joint Military Commission, UN resolutions and confirmed also by the GNU’s Foreign Minister, Najla al-Mangoush.
