Habil: Quorum Will Not Be Reached at Thursday’s CBL Board of Directors Meeting – Al Marsad

A member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Dr Abdul Rahman Habil, said quorum will not be achieved at the CBL board meeting this Thursday.

(LIBYA, 3 June 2021) – Dr Abdul Rahman Habil said in a statement to the financial newspaper Sada, that the main reason for the inability to hold the meeting is that some of the very important decisions that were agreed upon in the past two meetings have not been implemented so far—the most important of which is solving the clearing problem experienced by bank branches in the eastern region.

Habil added that “the unification has not yet been completed at the banking level during the period of the current Government of National Unity (GNU); in addition, the Libyan Foreign Bank violated the law and the instructions of the Central Bank Board of Directors in the measures taken recently.”
