Dr Aref Nayed Meets Chancellor Aguila Saleh on December Elections – Al Marsad

Dr. Aref Ali Nayed, Chairman of Ihya Libya (Reviving Libya) Movement met on Saturday with the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Chancellor Aguila Saleh, at his residence in Al-Qubba, to discuss the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections on 24 December 2021.

(LIBYA, 12 June 2021) – According to the Ihya Libya movement’s media office, Dr Aref Ali Nayed briefed Chancellor Aguila Saleh on the unified position of a consortium of national movements and parties that adheres to holding the Presidential and Parliamentary elections on their scheduled date on 24 December 2021, and the arrangements for holding them.

The consortium stressed importance of activating the Parliamentary constitutional rule and preparing all the requirements that the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) needs to conduct the elections.

Nayed also underscored the importance of unifying the ranks and strategies of the national movements in the country on the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

They also discussed at the meeting the importance of activating the role of the UN, African Union (AU) and regional organizations in supporting the Presidential and Parliamentary elections, and ensuring that the elections, or their results, are not tampered with, and ensuring that the international community shows firm commitment on this.
