Heiko Maas at Berlin II: Presence of Foreign Fighters Obstructs Peace in Libya – Al Marsad

Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said in his speech at the Berlin II Conference today that the “presence of foreign fighters obstructs peace, as external interference in Libya must ended and armament, interference and obstruction must stop.”

(LIBYA, 23 June 2021) – Germany’s Foreign Minister, according to the Libyan News Agency (LANA), added, “A transitional executive authority has been established in Libya, which has been approved by the House of Representatives, and the presence of the Libyan delegation attests to that.”

Maas concluded his speech with the words: “We must guarantee free and fair elections in Libya during the date set for them, which is 24 December.”
