Al-Hadath: Egypt Will Not Improve Diplomatic Relations with Turkey Due to Dispute Over Libya – Al Marsad

Egypt has refused to raise the level of diplomatic representation with Turkey at the current time due to Turkey’s failure to adhere to several conditions put forward by Egypt in exchange for improving relations.

(LIBYA, 7 July 2021) – According to a recent report by Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath channel, Ankara will not provide Cairo with security information about extremists who have returned from Syria to Turkey, and refuses to sign documents pledging the unconditional withdrawal of Turkish forces from Libya.

According to sources, Egypt also stipulated that Turkey must stop efforts to disrupt the holding of Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Libya which are set for 24 December. Additionally, it has requested Ankara to stop and freeze the transfer of any highly extremist Egyptian elements to Libyan territory and neighbouring countries.
